QUILTED SHIRT JACKET WITH QUILTED SILK POCKETS AND SIDE PANELS

Structured like a shirt, with the substance of a jacket. WYNTON’s silhouette carries the familiarity of workwear, lending itself a structured frame with just enough give. Built to move with the body, it offers an ease that allows room to lift, layer, and bend.

We draw from the Sanjhi tradition of paper-cut stencils, beginning with floral or geometric shapes embroidered into the cloth before their centres are cut away by hand. The fabric is then dyed with plants at Bio Dye, where colour settles around the cut edges to frame each form. Into this surface we place silk twill inserts and pockets, that are joined with intricate binding details. What emerges is a play between solid and open — a cloth that carries the depth of embroidery and the fineness of silk, shifting as light moves through it.
